Tasty Tuesday: Any Time mug cake

Tasty Tuesday: Any Time mug cake

Ever have a craving for cake but you're afraid if you make a whole cake you'll want to eat the entire thing? No? Maybe it's just me...

If you're like me, and have that fear, I have a secret recipe just for you. Any time mug cake is seriously easy and perfect for when a seious case of sugar tooth hits (because you won't have an entire cake staring at you-- daring you to eat another slice :) ).

What you'll need:

1 box cake mix (any flavor)

1 box angel food cake (NO substitutions.)

1 large Ziploc bag

dump ingredients in Ziploc and shake, shake, shake! When you are ready to eat cake, mix 1/3 cup of the cake mixture with 3 Tbs water in a large mug and mix well. microwave for 45-60 seconds. Allow to cool about 3 minutes and then top with whipped topping or ice cream.

There are so many fun variations. We've made chocolate (topped with Nutella) and vanilla (topped with fresh strawberries and cream!) Lemon cake, and also carrot (with cream cheese frosting) ... This recipe is a little dangerous... but a whole lot less dangerous than an entire cake. For sure!

Happy (Micowave) Baking! ENJOY!

Read with Me Monday: Dot Art

Read with Me Monday: Dot Art
I came across this fun art project on Pinterest and it immediately reminded me of the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. I just had to take a closer look... so I headed over to the Helping Little Hands blog from a link on Pinterest. The picture above is from there. Click HERE to visit the site and learn how to make neat dot art with just crayons, a candle, and card stock. We sure did have fun (Although I forgot to take pictures.) I told my son, "Just make a dot and see where it takes you." This activity with the book made a perfect Read with me Monday!
