Sometimes it is hard to think of fun things to do with the family. It can get boring doing the same thing over and over. There are only so many times you can watch a movie or play a board game. Something fun that the whole family can enjoy is an Art Museum. Art these days is fun to look at. We have recently discovered a modern artist by the name of Scott Tucker. His work is fun and colorful….this would be a fun road trip to take with the family some weekend…it is in Dallas, Texas and it is called The Art Menu.
The Art Menu is a Dallas, TX. based organization that has brought together a collection of artists who have all been chosen by a team of industry experts. Their roster showcases local artists and one such painter who is making a splash around the Dallas art scene is Scott Tucker. Here at Our Family Fun Night we have admired Tucker’s work for quite a while. The Art Menu’s roster only features a select number of local artists and Tucker is one of them.
The Art Menu’s advisory board recently praised Tucker’s work, commenting on their website that “Tucker’s socially inspired work consists of themes ranging from mass consumerism to whimsical folly. His sorting and placement of repetitive patterns and simple color schemes speak of sociological concerns we are haunted by in the West. Combining both found images and painted symbols, he expresses heartfelt social commentary.”
Tuckers unique collages and paintings convey an electic mix of abstract randomness with a startling reality that have been critically acclaimed for their social commentaries.
Tucker has his own blogsite and you can see his work by visiting The Art Menu Website
